On The Clock 4.29.16: NFL Draft Day Two: Who's Still Waiting? #NFLDraft2016

By Alex Hale, @DaSportsGenius7

Day One is now is the books in Chicago as NFL teams finished Round One of the NFL Draft last night.  To say the very least, it was an extremely unpredictable Round One with twists and turns everywhere.  There was a flurry of activity and even a last second controversial video involving Ole Miss OT Laremy Tunsil.  At the end of the night there were plenty of Round One talents that were left on the board for Day Two and we’re going to go over my Top 10 players on the board going into Day Two.  But before we discuss my Top 10 players remaining on my board, let’s quickly review what happened in Round One.

1. St. Louis Rams- QB Jared Goff, California
2. Philadelphia Eagles (from Cleveland)- QB Carson Wentz, North Dakota State
3. San Diego Chargers- OLB/DE Joey Bosa, Ohio State
4. Dallas Cowboys- RB Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio State
5.  Jacksonville Jaguars- CB Jalen Ramsey, Florida State
6. Baltimore Ravens- OT Ronnie Stanley, Notre Dame
7. San Francisco 49ers- DE DeForest Buckner, Oregon
8. Tennessee Titans (from Cleveland)- OT Jack Conklin, Michigan State
9. Chicago Bears (from Tampa Bay)- OLB Leonard Floyd, Georgia
10. New York Giants- CB Eli Apple, Ohio State
11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from Chicago)- CB Vernon Hargreaves III, Florida
12. New Orleans Saints- DT Sheldon Rankins, Louisville
13. Miami Dolphins- OT Laremy Tunsil, Ole Miss
14. Oakland Raiders- S Karl Joesph, West Virginia
15. Cleveland Browns (from Tennessee)- WR Corey Coleman, Baylor
16. Detroit Lions- OT Taylor Decker, Ohio State
17. Atlanta Falcons- S Keanu Neal, Florida
18. Indianapolis Colts- C Ryan Kelly, Alabama
19. Buffalo Bills- DE/OLB Shaq Lawson, Clemson
20. New York Jets- OLB Darron Lee, Ohio State
21. Houston Texans (from Washington)- WR Will Fuller, Notre Dame
22. Washington Redskins (from Houston)- WR Josh Doctson, TCU
23. Minnesota Vikings- WR Laquon Treadwell, Ole Miss
24. Cincinnati Bengals- CB William Jackson III, Houston
25. Pittsburgh Steelers- CB Artie Burns, Miami (FL)
26. Denver Broncos (from Seattle)- QB Paxton Lynch, Memphis
27. Green Bay Packers- DT Kenny Clark, UCLA
28. San Francisco 49ers (from Kansas City)- OG Joshua Garnett, Stanford
29. Arizona Cardinals- DT Robert Nkemdiche, Ole Miss
30. Carolina Panthers- DT Vernon Butler, Louisiana Tech
31. Seattle Seahawks (from Denver)- OT Germain Ifedi, Texas A&M

Now that we can see the craziness that was Round One of the NFL Draft, let’s jump into my Top 10 players going into Round 2.

10. Bronson Kaufusi OLB/DE, BYU- While Kaufusi isn’t probably ranked this high currently on many boards, I’m extremely high on Kaufusi who is a big specimen at 6'6", 275 and while he’s not a speed rusher, he’s shown the talent to have the moves to get into the backfield and sack the QB.  Probably ends up a 3rd Round pick, but I’m a huge fan on the kid.

9. Hunter Henry TE, Arkansas- The best Tight End in this year’s class, Henry is a well-rounded player who can help in both the passing and running game.  His blocking ability is good but he was a key part of the Arkansas passing attack.  He won’t wow you with speed, but he just everything well to where he can hide that.  Think Jason Witten.

8. A’Shawn Robinson DT, Alabama- It’s amazing to me how both Alabama DTs are available.  Robinson is probably the more higher upside of the two Alabama DTs where Robinson projects to me as probably in time as a 3-4 NT.  He’s good at getting into the backfield and can be a leader in the locker room.  Just a tough hard-nosed guy that teams love.

7. Vonn Bell S, Ohio State- After 5 Buckeyes selected in Round 1, Bell is the next Buckeye to come off the board probably in this draft.  While Bell isn’t the thumper that he probably could be as a safety, he showed at Ohio State that he can be a guy that can break up passes and teams do love that.  We saw Keanu Neal and Karl Joseph go in Round 1, so I’d expect Bell off the board at some point in Round 2.

6. Jarran Reed DT, Alabama- The more polished of the two Alabama DT prospects, Reed could easily play either in a 3-4 or 4-3 and be effective.  Reed is one of the more disruptive DT talents in the draft and I was sure he wouldn’t get past Green Bay depending on how the draft went down.  Reed is a 1st Round talent and whoever gets him in Round 2 is getting a steal.

5. Derrick Henry RB, Alabama- The Heisman Trophy winner I thought might’ve gotten a small boost with the early pick of Ezekiel Elliott.  While Henry isn’t as explosive of Elliott, his physical stature and workout process where he ran better than expected 40 times would’ve had him in Round 1.  Henry may be an average receiver, but he can be a 3 down back.  Expect him gone early in Round 2.

4. Chris Jones DT, Mississippi State- One of the most purely gifted talents is available for teams in Round 2.  There may not be a more explosive and disruptive DT in this draft that fits perfectly with any team that runs a 4-3 system.  He reminds me so much of Ndamukong Suh…both the good and the bad.  Jones shows on film to take plays off and can be lazy.  That cost him being a Top 15 pick.

3. Connor Cook QB, Michigan State- My #1 2016 QB one year ago today has just taken a huge fall.  With all the character questions and more importantly he seemed to decline last year at MSU, which might’ve affected him during the draft process.  Cook can make all the throws and has the size for the position.  It’s a matter of mental makeup that’s costing him in draft position.  Could be Browns selection at #32 in Round 2.

2. Michael Thomas WR, Ohio State- The best WR on the board right now, Thomas to me was a borderline 1st Round talent for his size and speed combination.  He’s continued to show improvement catching the ball and making plays after the catch.  While he probably will be a #2 WR out of college, his upside has the potential to be a #1 WR for whoever picks him in the 2nd Round.

1. Myles Jack OLB, UCLA- WOW…just wow.  One concern over his knee just cost this kid millions.  Jack was going to be a Top 3-5 pick overall and now he’s in Round 2.  We all know that Jack has outstanding athletic talent and has a nose for the ball.  Now you add that the kid is going to have a major chip on his shoulder.  The Browns had been rumored to be interested in him and with all the 3rd Round picks they have, the Browns should take the risk and grab Myles Jack at #32.

While we didn’t have guys like CB Mackensie Alexander, DE Kevin Dodd and OT Jason Spriggs who aren’t even on this list, this tells you how screwed up the boards probably are at this point.  The craziness that was Round One of the NFL Draft is definitely going to roll over into Round Two starting right away with the Cleveland Browns holding #32.  I know I’ll be extremely interested to see what Day Two of the NFL Draft has in store for us because if we learned anything from Day One…expect the craziness to happen!

Main event time saw the Japanese sensation, Shinsuke Nakamura battle Elias Samson one on one.

Eva misses a running senton splash and catches a shining wizard from Asuka. Asuka measures and destroys Eva with a kick to the head to score the pinfall. After the match, Nia Jax and Asuka have a stare down with each other.
Winner: Asuka, by pinfall.

- NXT World Title, House Show Highlights, Finn Balor (c) vs. Samoa Joe: Balor looked to have been injured in the match after hitting a diving drop kick. NXT medical check on Balor at one point. Samoa Joe goes on to hit the Muscle Buster on Balor, scores the pinfall and wins the championship.
Winner: Samoa Joe, by pinfall, to win the NXT World Title.

- Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder vs. Jeff Parker and Matt Lee: The match closes out with Dawson and Wilder owning Parker and Lee. Wilder and Dawson land a power bomb/clothesline combo on Parker. Lee tags in and gets destroyed with Wilder and Dawson's double team finisher to score the pinfall. - The Hype Bros vs. Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy: Blake and Murphy injure Ryder's knee with a chop block and work it over. The match closes out with Ryder able to hobble over to tag Rawley, who destroys Murphy with a shoulder block. Ryder and Rawley hit their Hype Ryder double team finisher on Blake and score the pinfall. After the match, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder hit the ring and beat down Rawley and Ryder, proving like they said, no NXT tag team is safe.
Winners: The Hype Bros., by pinfall.

- Carmella vs. Aliyah: The match closes out with Aliyah landing a top rope leg drop on Carmella for a near fall. Carmella lands a Lou Thesz press on Aliyah and then lands a hurricanrana. Carmella hits the Bronco Buster and then locks in the leg scissor submission. Aliyah has no choice but to tap out.
Winner: Carmella, by submission.

- Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Elias Samson: The match closes out with Samson hitting a snap suplex and then applies a side headlock. Nakamura escapes, hits a double enziguri on Samson and then sets Samson on the top rope. Nakamura hits the running knee on Samson and follows up with the exploder suplex. Nakamura drills Samson with the Kinshasa and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura, by pinfall.

- That closes out this week's NXT.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, is here with your Smackdown Recap Edition.

This week's Smackdown took place in Manchester, New Hampshire. Tonight, Smackdown served its go home show to this Sunday's WWE Payback pay per view. Sami Zayn, Cesaro and WWE United States Champion, Kalisto, teamed up and battled the League of Nations in six man tag team action. Baron Corbin faced Damian Sandow in one on one action. The Ambrose Asylum returned with special guests, Nattie Neidhart, WWE Women's Champion, Charlotte and Ric Flair. Enzo and Big Cass battled The Social Outcasts in tag team action. Apollo Crews battled Stardust in a rematch from RAW. Main event time saw WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns, battle WWE Intercontinental Champion, The Miz, one on one.

*** Smackdown ***

- Roman Reigns Promo: Reigns still doesn't believe that AJ Styles isn't involved with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Reigns respects everything Styles has done in the business, but Styles isn't fooling anyone. Reigns calls out Styles, but gets The Miz and Maryse instead. Miz says he was the first one that pointed out Styles, Anderson and Gallows were in cahoots together and when it gets revealed, Reigns will lose his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Miz wants recognition for it and makes out with Maryse. Reigns punches Miz and then clotheslines Miz to the floor.

- Backstage, The League of Nations state that they have been stronger than any three man team since kicking out King Barrett. Rusev says they are so strong now that they should be called the United Nations.

- "Six Man Tag Team Match": Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Kalisto vs. The League of Nations: Rusev and Sheamus argue over who's starting the match. Later in the match, Rusev force tags in and he and Del Rio have a shoving fight with each other. All three League of Nations members begin to shove each other until Del Rio walks out. A few minutes later, Rusev had enough of Sheamus and walks out too. The match closes out with Cesaro landing a running european uppercut on Sheamus and a near fall cross body. Cesaro unloads a series of uppercuts on Sheamus and then lands a drop kick. Cesaro goes for the Cesaro Swing, but Sheamus blocks it by grabbing the ropes. Sheamus rolls to the floor and walks out, taking the count out loss.
Winners: Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Kalisto, by count out.

- Backstage, Sheamus, Rusev and Alberto Del Rio begin brawling with each other, officially ending the League of Nations faction.

- Baron Corbin vs. Damien Sandow: The match closes out with Sandow trying to get in some punches on Corbin, but gets caught with a Corbin elbow. Corbin sends Sandow neck first into the ropes and then plants Sandow with End Of Days for the easy pinfall.
Winner: Baron Corbin, by pinfall.

- Backstage, AJ Styles says he doesn't care what Roman Reigns thinks, after Sunday Reigns won't be calling Styles a liar anymore, instead Reigns will be calling Styles champ.

- Ambrose Asylum, with Special Guests, Nattie Neidhart, Charlotte and Ric Flair: Before beginning his talk show, Ambrose promises vengeance on Chris Jericho this Sunday and says Jericho made a huge mistake by letting Ambrose escape the Walls Of Jericho. Ambrose introduces Nattie Neidhart first. Ambrose mentions Nattie making Charlotte tap out a few weeks ago, but Ric Flair's distraction cost Nattie the championship. Nattie says this Sunday will be no different and she'll have her uncle, Bret Hart, at ringside to keep an eye on Ric Flair. Charlotte and Flair interrupt and think it's funny that Nattie has to have her sick uncle in her corner. Charlotte reminds us of Flair's accomplishments in the business and calls him a coach. Nattie calls Flair a lying, cheating and creepy old man. Nattie says Flair helps Charlotte cheat cause deep down he knows Charlotte isn't that great and if he thinks he's getting involved on Sunday, Uncle Bret will be there to stop him. Flair says he isn't scared of Bret, cause he beat him in WWE and in WCW. Nattie says this Sunday it's time for a new era in the Women's Division and the WWE Universe will get a champion that they deserve.

- Enzo and Big Cass vs. The Social Outcasts: The New Day were on commentary for this match. The Vaudevillains also appeared and scouted from the Smackdown stage. The match closes out with Cass hitting a corner splash, an Empire Elbow and a spinning side slam on Curtis Axel. Enzo tags in and he and Cass hit the double team Rocket Launcher and score the pinfall. After the match, The Vaudevillains applaud Enzo and Cass' win. Cass says after Payback, The Vaudevillains will be SAWFT.
Winners: Enzo and Big Cass, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Goldust wants to tag with R-Truth and form the Golden Truth. Truth didn't forget Goldust teaming with Fandango a few weeks back and forming Gold-Dango. Truth went out and got Tyler Breeze to team with him and they will be called the Gorgeous Truth.

- Apollo Crews vs. Stardust: The match closes out with Crews landing a pump handle slam on Stardust for a near fall. Stardust targets Crews' knee with a drop kick. Crews comes back and unloads a series of enziguri's on Stardust. Crews plants Stardust with the Apollo Bomb and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Apollo Crews, by pinfall.

- Roman Reigns vs. The Miz: The match closes out with Reigns kicking Miz, hitting a flying lariat and ten corner clotheslines Miz. Reigns goes for the Superman Punch, but Maryse pulls Miz to the floor. Miz goes after Reigns' knee and gets a near fall inverted DDT. Miz goes for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Reigns unloads back elbows and then hits the spear on Miz to score the pinfall. After the match, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson hit the ring and beat down Reigns. Gallows sends Reigns into the steel steps and Anderson lands a big boot. The Usos hit the ring and brawl with Gallows and Anderson. Jimmy Uso kicks Anderson as AJ Styles tries to step in. Jimmy punches Styles and then Uso kicks Gallows. Styles hits an enziguri on Jimmy, but misses the Phenomenal Forearm. Gallows clotheslines Jimmy to the floor then argues with Styles. Reigns spears Gallows and Styles goes for the Styles Clash on Reigns. Reigns counters and goes for the Superman Punch, but Styles escapes to the floor. Reigns and Styles have a stare down to end Smackdown.
Winner: Roman Reigns, by pinfall.

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon: WWE Payback Preview #WWEPayback

By Brandon Albright, @B_Rock1978

Wrestling Lockup with Brandon, brought to you by Triple Threat CLE, brings you the WWE Payback Preview.

WWE Payback takes place live at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. This being Payback's fourth year as a WWE pay per view, the WWE have held the event three out of the four years in its existence at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. WWE Payback will also be available on the WWE Network for only $9.99. If you can't catch the show live or on the WWE Network, I'll be bringing you the WWE Payback recap on Monday afternoon.

- "WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match": Roman Reigns (c) vs. AJ Styles: Roman Reigns did what he said he was going to do at Wrestlemania 32, last month. Reigns defeated Triple H to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and began another Roman Empire reign within the WWE. Reigns now has a new attitude as well, as he considers himself not a good guy or a bad guy, he considers himself THE guy in the WWE. AJ Styles has made quite an impact in the WWE since arriving in January. Styles, however, is coming off of a loss against Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 32. Styles didn't let that loss on the biggest stage in sports entertainment bring him down though. Styles would go on to defeat Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens and Cesaro in a fatal four way match to earn the right to face Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Will the Roman Empire continue to reign over the WWE and defeat what many call another independent wrestling darling? Will the former multi TNA World Heavyweight Champion, AJ Styles, cause the fall of the Empire and walk out with the world title?

- "WWE Intercontinental Championship Match": The Miz (c) w/Maryse vs. Cesaro: The RAW after Wrestlemania, Miz defeated Zack Ryder to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship and added more gold to his Hollywood movie star gimmick. Not only did he win back the IC-Title, but Miz's wife, Maryse, also returned to the WWE and helped her husband take home the gold to their Hollywood mansion. On that same RAW, the Swiss Superman, Cesaro, returned to action after being out with an injury. Cesaro came up short that night in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contenders Match. The following week on RAW, Cesaro went on to defeat Kevin Owens in another #1 Contenders Match, this time with the winner getting a shot at The Miz and the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Will The Miz defeat Cesaro and continue living the Hollywood lifestyle as a champion? Or will Cesaro shatter The Miz's Hollywood dream of being a champion?

- "WWE United States Championship Match": Kalisto (c) vs. Ryback: For the second pay per view in a row the WWE United States Championship has been put on the card, but will be the Pre-Show filler match. Last month at Wrestlemania 32, Kalisto was successful in defending his WWE United States Championship against Ryback. Can the "little guy", Kalisto, pull out another victory on a much bigger and stronger opponent? Will the "big guy", Ryback, who's only worried about himself now, defeat Kalisto and win his first WWE United States Championship?

- "WWE Women's Championship Match": Charlotte (c) w/Ric Flair vs. Nattie Neidhart w/Bret Hart: Charlotte walked out of Wrestlemania 32 with a win over Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch and was crowned the new WWE Women's Champion. The next night on RAW, Charlotte was rewarded her new championship and was immediately challenged by Nattie Neidhart, who vowed to teach some discipline to Charlotte and change Charlotte's horrible attitude. Nattie defeated Charlotte in a WWE Women's Championship Match on RAW, however, it was by DQ, thanks to Charlotte's dad, Ric Flair, getting involved. Both ladies meet again at WWE Payback with the WWE Women's Championship on the line. Can Charlotte continue her cheating ways like her father has taught her and retain the title? Can Nattie finally prove to Charlotte that cheaters never win and take home the gold?

- Chris Jericho vs. Dean Ambrose: This feud has actually been almost a year long build up. Back at Night Of Champions in June of 2015, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and mystery partner, Chris Jericho, teamed up to battle The Wyatt Family. Jericho ended up taking the pinfall loss to The Wyatts, after letting his ego and the spotlight get in his way. Ambrose immediately told Reigns about how stupid it was to rely on Jericho to team with them. Cooler heads prevailed and nothing more happened between the two. That all changed this past month as Jericho now has a new attitude and demands the respect from the fans that he feels he rightfully deserves. Dean Ambrose, not liking Jericho or his attitude has stepped up to try to finally finish what he wanted to finish back in June. Ambrose has become a thorn in Jericho's side, by targeting Y2J and has even sabotaged Jericho's Highlight Reel talk show and turned it into the Ambrose Asylum talk show. Who will prevail when the self proclaimed best in the world meets the WWE's resident lunatic?

- Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn: Owens and Zayn have had a huge history with each other that just didn't start in the WWE. Owens and Zayn have been good friends and better enemies leading all the way back to their independent wrestling days and NXT days. Owens and Zayn have been PWG and ROH World Tag Team Champions together in the independent wrestling scene and have feuded with each other over the NXT World Title last year. Now that Zayn has been called up to the main WWE roster, Owens' anger and jealousy for Zayn has emerged again. Owens looks to end Zayn's career once and for all and forget about their friendship they once had. Zayn looks to stop Owens and bring him back down to reality.

- Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin: Former NXT superstar Baron Corbin made his main roster debut at Wrestlemania 32 and went on to win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Corbin then showed up on RAW and has been on a warpath, warning everyone that End Of Days are coming. Corbin immediately targeted Dolph Ziggler as his first victim and laid Ziggler out. Ziggler seeking revenge, attacked Corbin from behind and brawled with the newcomer, setting up their match at Payback. Can Ziggler stop the End Of Days that Corbin is threatening to bring to the WWE? Will Corbin make Ziggler his first of many victims in the WWE?

- "#1 Contenders Match, For The WWE World Tag Team Championship": Enzo and Big Cass vs. The Vaudevillains: Both former NXT tag teams made their respected debuts on RAW and SmackDown this month and immediately made an impact. Both teams entered into the WWE World Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders Tournament and both made it to the finals. Can Enzo and Big Cass, who have an enormous following from the WWE Universe, which goes along with Enzo's enormous ability to talk trash, walk out the new number one contenders? Will the former NXT World Tag Team Champions and believers in the old style of wrestling, The Vaudevillains, come out victorious? Which ever team survives will have a future date with The New Day and the WWE World Tag Team Championship.

- Who Will Run RAW? The Decision: Stephanie McMahon announced this past Monday on RAW that Vince McMahon would be at WWE Payback. The Chairman of the Board will officially announce who takes control of RAW permanently. Will it be Vince's son, Shane McMahon or Vince's daughter and son-in-law Stephanie McMahon and Triple H?
